Hello Democrats,

 

We hope this email finds you well.  As we all take a little break after the hard work of the General Election, we're excited also to be moving forward with plans for the next two years. 

 

This planning begins with a meeting of each organization’s Democratic Central Committee.  Each organization’s central committee is comprised of its Precinct Committee Officers (PCOs).  At this “reorganization” meeting, leadership will be elected or re-elected to serve for the following two years (2019-2020).  Officers elected will comprise the organization’s executive board and will be responsible for conducting business on behalf of the local party organization, as directed by governing documents, the central committee, and its general membership.

 

Offices open for election for each organization will include chair, first vice-chair, 2^nd vice-chair (optional), secretary, treasurer, state committee woman, and state committee man.  For the purposes of this “reorganization meeting,” only elected PCOs may vote.  Elected PCOs are those who filed for the office in May 2018 and who were publicly elected in the August 7, 2018 Primary Election.  Elected PCOs are automatically eligible to vote in both their county and legislative district reorganization meeting.  No proxies will be permitted.  Appointed PCOs, acting PCOs, and other Democrats may attend the meetings and may run for office, but are not eligible to vote.

 

The following dates have been set and locations secured in order to minimize the amount of travel necessary for those PCOs living outside of the Greater Wenatchee.

 

·         Douglas County Democrats will hold their biennial reorganization meeting on Sunday, December 16, 2018, beginning at 10:00am.  The meeting will be held at the Douglas County Fire District No 2 Meeting Room, 377 Eastmont Ave, East Wenatchee.

·         Democrats of Chelan County will hold their biennial reorganization meeting on Sunday, December 16, 2018, beginning at 10:00am.  The meeting will be held at 1735 N Wenatchee Ave, Wenatchee.

·         Pizza lunch will be provided for all county and LD attendees—at approximately 12:30pm, at 1735 N Wenatchee Ave.

·         Legislative District 12 Democrats will hold their biennial reorganization meeting on Sunday, December 16, 2018, beginning at 1:00pm.  The meeting will be held at 1735 N Wenatchee Ave, Wenatchee.
