Dear NCW Democrats and Friends,
What a roller coaster ride we’re on. Keep reminding yourself, “This is not normal. Not the way it’s supposed to be.” We must keep working for a good future for ourselves, our neighbors, and all children!
Thank you to all (more than 50) who attended last week’s Democratic “Coffee Break” and NCWDem General Meeting. We were pleased to host and hear from seven candidates. Thank you to non-partisan judicial candidates Kristin Ferrera, Robert McSeveney, Roberto Castro, Charles Steinberg, Robert Hunter, and Eric Biggar for sharing a snapshot of your backgrounds and interests, and legal experience. Thank you also to LD12 Democratic candidate Valerie Sarratt for attending and sharing some of your goals and ideas AND to CD8 Dem candidateShannon Hader, who phoned in to say “Hello!” LD12 Democratic candidate Keiki Weigle will visit with us soon. Watch for future opportunities to get acquainted with the people who are stepping up to represent us.
Please consider attending and/or helping at some of the events listed here. This week is packed full of opportunities to meet candidates, to learn about asylum-seeking families and kids, to volunteer to help at the Democratic Convention (at our convention center!), to support efforts of the Latino community, to help register new citizens and new voters, to canvass neighborhoods. No time to waste—please carve out a few hours and VOLUNTEER. There’s a place for each of us.
