Dear NCW Democrats and friends,
Spring is here, thankfully. New growth and color, warmer weather, cleansing rains—all remind us to be hopeful and to dig into important tasks ahead.
Over the past 7-10 days, we said “hello” to CD8 candidates Kim Schrier and Shannon Hader as they worked their way throughout NCW. They’ll be back, as will Jason Rittereiser and CD4 candidate Christine Brown. Each of them has told us how valuable it is to meet you and hear your comments, answer your questions. We've offered support to each of the candidates, in hopes that meeting them will help you decide who will earn your votes in August and November. As Democrats, we've also continued to express our thoughts through voting, contacting elected officials, and by showing up at canvasses, forums, and rallies. Each civic action matters. We know there’s a lot to do, but many people are working hard to right this ship. Please join in when you can. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED THIS WEEK/WEEKEND:
· April 27-29, Nason Creek Rest Area fundraiser; Dems to staff rest stop booth and serve cookies/coffee/conversation to Stevens Pass travelers! Cookies and volunteers needed! SIGN UP HERE (control+click)! (or cut/paste this link: http://signup.com/go/qZDBmsO) Twice each year our county organizations staff the Nason Creek Rest Stop as a community service and to raise donated funds that help with our annual operating expenses. It’s also a soft way to advertise that Democrats are alive and well in NCW and to do some internal team-building! Please consider helping by donating cookies or other supplies (see the list via the link) or by volunteering to spend a couple of hours in the good company of other Dems and weekend travelers—you meet the most interesting people. This will be a great weekend! The schedule, so far (need 2 per shift):
Donations to-date: Past experience suggests we’ll need ~125 dozen cookies and add’l supplies for a 3-day weekend (maybe more, as this is Apple Blossom!). So far, 45 doz cookies and various supplies have been donated (thank you, to all who’ve signed up!) There’s still plenty of opportunity for you! If you can make or purchase cookies/etc or spend a few hours staffing the booth, your contributions will really help! PS Homemade or store-bought—all are fine. ***If you intend to donate cookies or other supplies, you can call or text 509-630-3055 for pick-up/delivery options OR bring them to “Taste O’ Politics” on Thursday evening!
